La Citadelle

This is the work of Sebastien Lepestre, Marquis of Vauban, carried out at the order of Louis XIV, who had just conquered the town. Its construction lasted from 1667 till 1670.
Originally, it is a town surrounded with five bastions forming a star (convolution 2200 meters).
