The Bourle

The game of Bourle has been played in Tourcoing for the last 300 years. The game consists in throwing a hard wooden cylindric ball, into a slightly curved bourloire (28 m long and 3 m wide) by standing close to the mark (called the étaque). This game is well rooted in Tourcoing which has about ten bourloires.
